I am a 43 year old wife and mother of 2 girls. They are 24 and 21. I have
been married for 26 years! Wow hard to believe that, lol. My family is my

Comments About William S. Peters M.D.:
I met with Dr Peters for over an hour on our first consult. I found him to
be very forth coming, which I personally really appreciate. I want to know
what to expect, the good, the bad and the ugly! I especially like that he
wants to meet the spouse or significant other, to make sure all are on
board with this decision. Robbie who takes care of all the paperwork is a
wonder. She is really on top of things and extrememly helpful. Since I
have only met once and will be going again in a few days I dont have a lot
of other information at this time.

March 27, 2004 5'8,275 lbs,48 years old, tired of being fat, and inactive
because of it. Well, I had my first appt with my PCP, and she is behind me
all the way. Ive already had my first appt with the nutritionist, and I
have appt's set up for a sleep study, to check fore sleep apnea. Also I was
given my referral to my bariatric surgeon, Dr Richard Peter's! Woo hoo, I'm
on my way!!!!! I have an appt with him at the end of april! I should be
ready to have my surgery by the end of August, or the...... Click here to read

Comments About William S. Peters M.D.:
Ive met Doctor Peter's 3 times now, once at his office, and twice at support
group meetings, and I'm impressed with how down to earth he is. You never
feel like he's talking down to you, he just speaks his mind, very to the
point, without using medical jargon to impress. His wife Robbie is really
nice, and skinny! :) Great combination, Doc and his wife are! I trust the
Doc with my life totally, and can't wait to be on the other side! I know
once I have the surgery, they will always be there for me, as Ive seen it
thru other patients experiences. He dosent sugar coat anything, just states
the facts, which I like.

1/2/04 Guess I should have learned how to do this posting thing a long
time ago when I could have kept track of every event. I have it written in
a folder but I won't go into detail. So here I am starting out the new
year looking and feeling as I did last year. My hope was to have surgery
before the end of 2003 but my insurance company has not provided me that
opportunity. I want the DS because I feel that is the best surgery for me
and my lifestyle. Plus I think it is a better surgery in ...... Click here to read

Comments About William S. Peters M.D.:
My first impression of Dr. Peters was that of a serious man about what he
does. I was frightened of his blunt demeanor. That has not changed. I
still know if I don't do what I am told, that he will tell me to go find a
different surgeon. (I needed to quit smoking). He cares about his
patients. He is no non-sense in his approach to telling you how things are
going to be and what you need to do to succeed. He is blunt and tells you
all the good, the bad and the ugly. He returns phone calls and answers
emails. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. He states he will
continue to do your aftercare for as long as you live. At the least, he
requires you to come back to him for a year. He has a support group for
his patients only. His aftercare program is structured mainly by diet and
bloodwork initially with follow up based on bloodwork results and how the
patient feels.
When it comes down to it, I want a good surgeon who is competent in what
he/she does. Although I like ...... Click here to read more

November 5, 2003-
Ok, Used to be thin, til I was about 21. Had 3 kids, gained with each
pregnancy, never lost. Tried every diet known to mankind, only to rebound
and end up heavier. Yo-Yo'd for the last 15 years. Totally slowed my
metabolism to a complete halt after over a year of Atkins, came off,
crashed, got depressed. Gained more. Saw doctors for help, I was told to
exercise enough to increase my heart rate three times a day before meals
and eat ...... Click here to read more
Comments About William S. Peters M.D.:
My first impression of Dr. Peters was a little scary. His office isn't
exactly what you'd expect for a highly recommended surgeon whose waiting
list is months long.
He doesn't pull any punches. He's brutally honest, up front and even a bit
over the top when it comes to his negative shpeil. You will leave his
office knowing and understanding ALL of the associated risks.
He provides you with pamphlets to read and a list of excellent websites,
including this one. He doesn't want you to take any of this process
lightly. He expects you to do what he says and doesn't want to waste time
with patients who are in this for purely cosmetic motivations or those that
wont follow protocall.
After talking to him, I realized the Mahogony Desk and Corner Office
aren't his priorities. His priority is the safety of his patients. He made
it very clear that I had to quit smoking. Tough to do, but I did it,
because he wasn't kidding. He said he'd send me home on the day of my
surgery if he found out...... Click here to read more
